An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a very contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and visitors with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By reserving tickets you acknowledge that you understand and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 for all members of your group.


The following rules and policies have been developed and are enforced to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all of our guests.

  • Our time slots are set for 2 or 3 hours, but as long a you arrive before the end of the allotted time it is ok to come play anytime during that slot.
  • Children are never allowed into the museum without an adult.  
  • Adults are not permitted to enter the museum without children. Should adults request a tour, we recommend calling ahead to make an appointment (413) 536-7048.
  • All visitors and staff, with the exception of children under two years old will be required to wear a mask.
  • New signage has been placed throughout the museum as reminders to wash hands and social distance.
  • The museum reserves the right to refuse admission.

Museum Discounts

Library Pass

  • You may contact your local library to see if they participate in our library pass program. If available, patron's may check the pass out through their library to receive half priced admission, for $4.
  • Valid library pass required
  • Disclaimer - Discounts of any kind cannot be combined, and are only valid for up to 6 people in a group. Discounts cannot be used for field trips or other museum events, they are subject to regular admission only.


  • Free admission for the active enlisted person
  • Military I.D. required

Mass Teachers Association

  • ½ price admission for MA Teacher only
  • MTA I.D. Card and picture I.D required

Senior Citizen

  • $5.00 price admission age 62 or older
  • Proof of DOB required

Massachusetts EBT Card Holders

  • $3.00 admission for up to four people
  • Valid Massachusetts Card and I.D. required

Parking Information & Directions

The Children’s Museum is located at 444 Dwight Street, just down the hill past City Hall adjacent to Heritage State Park and the upper canal. If the garage is not available you can park for free in the Merry Go Round open lot on Appleton St., a minute walk to the museum. Meters are an option. No fee for meters on weekends and holidays.

From South

Springfield, Connecticut, Agawam, Longmeadow:
Take I-91 North to exit 12 (I-391 North).
Follow 391 to the end.
Turn right onto High Street.
Go six traffic lights.
Turn right off High Street onto Dwight Street.
Come down about a block and a half, Museum is on your right.

From North

Northampton, Greenfield, Amherst, Vermont:
Take I-91 South to Exit 16, left at the end of the ramp on Route 202 (Beech Street).
After 1 1/2 miles pass the YMCA on the right.
At second light after YMCA, take a right on Dwight Street and come into the downtown area.
Pass City Hall on your right.
Continue a block and a half.
You’ll see the Children’s Museum on your right.

From Mass Turnpike

Points east and west:
Take Exit 4 (W. Springfield).
Take I 91 North and get off at Exit 16 (Rt 202).
Bear right at the end of the ramp on to Beech Street.
After 1 1/2 miles pass YMCA on the right.
At second light after YMCA turn right on to Dwight Street and come into the downtown area.
Pass City Hall on your right.
Continue a block and half.
You’ll see the Children’s Museum on your right.
